Bluestones staffing specialised IT Division is recruiting a Database Developer for a Global organisation based in Manchester.

 

Job Purpose:

This role is responsible for database aspects of application and report development, including supporting tools. It also involves database management, optimisation/performance management, ad-hoc queries and manipulation, and database design.

Principal Accountabilities:

·Share information effectively with other technical staff and project teams.

·Understand and analyse requirements, seeking clarification as necessary.

·Communicate problems appropriately and in a timely manner.

·Identify and consult subject matter experts as required.

·Seek appropriate guidance when making architectural decisions.

·Help maintain a culture of learning and creativity.

·Create clear documentation, guides and commented code.

·Contribute to technical design and architecture discussions.

·Maintain current knowledge in areas of database development, documentation and security.

·Carry out database development, according to specification, and in line with development/coding standards.

·Carry out database maintenance in response to QA feedback and ad-hoc business requests.

·To efficiently manage your workload and accurately record your time using the company timesheet system.

·To freely share knowledge, insight, best practice and ideas.

·Work appropriately, according to defined processes and procedures

Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement in development.

Infrastructure Team

Knowledge, qualifications and experience
Essential

·Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Microsoft SQL server

·Strong TSQL skills

·Experience of working with SSIS in a production server environment

·Excellent communication skills to technical and non-technical stakeholders

·Ability to work as a part of a team and individually

·Ability to create and maintain robust and coherent documentation.

·Work appropriately, according to defined processes and procedures

·Experience using SSRS

Desirable

·Exposure to PowerBI

·Exposure to Microsoft Azure SQL server

·Experience/ awareness of Data Science Modelling/ Predictive Analytics

Experience using SSAS
