Bluestones Specialised Manufacturing division is  working with a leading distribution client in Lisburn, due to continued success they have a requirement for a Continuous improvement manager.

About the Role:

To drive  significant improvements throughout the manufacturing function.  Will utilise lean manufacturing tools to improve quality, help launch new products, optimise use of floor space, optimise output from the capital equipment, optimise labour efficiency and improve customer satisfaction.

About the candidate:

  • Identify projects which will drive major improvements within manufacturing
  • Form and lead cross functional teams
  • Lead and manage implementation of improvements within manufacturing
  • Identify operational constraints and appropriate action plans to address them
  • Introduce new process and capital equipment which will improve quality and productivity
  • Provide analysis to support project implementation
  • Lead the introduction of new products into production in alignment with APQP frameworks
  • Develop optimised layouts for production cells
  • Balance work through each stage of manufacturing
  • Implement production flows which optimise flow of product through the manufacturing stages, utilisation of equipment and utilisation of labour
  • Define optimum batch sizes
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement
  • Assist with the introduction of SMED activities
  • Assist with the introduction of practical problem solving methodologies such as A3, 8D or 6 Sigma

About the Role:

This is a multi faceted role which requires the Quality and Environmental Manger to maintain certification to IATF/TS 16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 14000.

Scope of job:

  • Managing, developing and improving all aspects of Quality and Environmental management within the organisation.
  • Managing maintaining and reviewing the Quality and Environmental management systems to ensure continued accreditation to IATF/TS 16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 1400.
